About two-thirds through my last book, Earth Shift, I began thinking about what happens after the last page and it wasn't long before the first part came to me and I starting writing chapter 1 of Earth Flight.

For me...I can't keep my characters hanging...when I leave them for long, they're in limbo and I feel like they're waiting for me. After a while of not writing, they feel more distant from me and that scares me... I don't want to lose them, or let them down. Strange, I know but that's what I feel.

My advice is to just start....don't worry about whether it's good, or whether you know the end or whether you have it in you to writer a whole book. Just write a chapter, however long. then write another...and another and before you know it, you've written a book.

My next book, Earth Flight is next in the series and follows Earth Shift. It is called Earth Flight and I'm currently working on chapter 7.

Writing has been a natural extension of my love of reading. For me the best thing about being a writer is telling my own story. I come to know and love my characters as very real people, whom I put through a lot of unpleasant stuff. Very fun!

I've rarely dealt with this phenomenon that many writer's struggle with. My experience has been to just start writing, knowing that the goal is to prime the pump and not to expect gold on the first go round.
