Hi Bea,
Thieves Castle is actually still a work-in-progress! I'm shamefully behind but should have it finished up by the summer. It is currently at 62,000 words and climbing. Should top out at about 95,000 - 100,000 words (just slightly shorter than The Jesuit Letter). The plan is to try to sign with an agent in the Fall. If not, then it will be rolling out as a self-published work in 2018.
In the meanwhile, I also have a 10,000 word Tyburn novella up called Black Dog that you might enjoy.
Thanks!

Reading a biography of William Shakespeare. I ran across some minor points of history, biographical deductions about his family life and his likely upbringing that intrigued and brought additional questions to mind. These meshed and coiled about, mixing with some historical facts, thoughts, conclusions and what-ifs and out of that was born the tale of an ex-soldier turned play-actor and an eleven-year old Will entangled in a deadly conspiracy.

The creativity. The sense of accomplishment when you've persevered through a long, and often thankless process, and end up with well-written, gripping story that hopefully people will enjoy.
Creation is fun.

Generally I haven't run into writer's block.
I tend to run into time management, procrastination, distraction issues and the impact of my son's hockey season (which is a massive time suck that sees me at arenas for 10-15 hours per week for 6 months a year). I do run into plot issues that sometimes need sorting through in my head, but I haven't thankfully run into the mental stresses of any type of full-blown writers block at this point.

I'm about 1/3 of the way through the next book in The Tyburn Folios series, Thieves Castle.
Tyburn is back in London, hired to help James Burbage, the owner of London's new permanent theater, track down a missing goldseller.
