Joe Rossi My book is a memoir. I had long ago decided to capture and relay certain events in my experience through a book because I felt they embodied some lessons and wisdom in life that others could benefit from, or at least recognize, appreciate and enjoy reading about.

I hope that was the case for some!
Joe Rossi Nothing at the moment. I feel like I need some time between projects. For starting any new story worth putting to pen-and-paper, it must 'call' me to write, and I haven't felt that yet.

Who knows what the future holds?
Joe Rossi Good question. I've only written one book, and don't really consider myself a writer by profession. However, in writing my book, I did learn that while all of the research, grammar, character development, story line and other elements that go into a book are essential, I felt that that most important thing to do was sticking to my own 'voice' and not trying to write and sound like someone else. That seemed to be the critical ingredient to keeping the writing authentic.
Joe Rossi when I recognize that I'm forcing my writing, or that I've been sitting for too long without producing any writing, I turn off the computer, stop working, walk away and shift my mental and physical focus to something else, like working out, cleaning the yard, going for a walk or doing a puzzle.

After sufficient time has passed, I resume writing, but if I'm still blocked, that's it until the next day when I start the process all over again. The most important thing I realized is that, no matter how frustrated or impatient I am, I know that writing block is always temporary.
