Jen Crane I hope to write another in this series, Jana. Right now I'm working on something a little different, but I love Thayer and Stella and all of the characters in this series. I think they deserve a future. :)

Thank you so much for saying hello!
Jen Crane Hi Chelsey! Thanks so much for taking the time to write. Book 3 will release 5/31/16.

Betrayal Foretold, Book 3 in the Descended of Dragons series, is packed with action, suspense, more world-building, more magic and shifters, more of Gresham, Ewan, Boone, Timbra, Gaspare. And a very big plot twist that you'll not see coming.

Thanks again, Chelsey!

Jen Crane Rare Form is the first novel I ever wrote. I had always loved writing, loved language. Age 35, for me, was 'now or never,' so I dove in to the very large, very deep pool of book authorship.

I have maybe 40 book ideas driving around inside my brain. It was Rare Form and the Descended of Dragons series that I allowed off the exit ramp first, and I'm so glad I did.

My life's *too real* for nonfiction, and I decided to write something I wanted to read. I wanted adventure, a strong heroine, an alpha male (or two), magic, romance, love, a plot twist, and a dash of combat.

One day I thought, "what would the world look like if we'd evolved from all kinds of animals, and not just apes." Thus Rare Form was born. The idea took shape and I built a world around the concept--one that I look forward to spending more time in.
Jen Crane I’m working on something a little different right now. If all goes as planned, *fingers crossed* the next book I release will be Tupelo & Magnolia: A Story of Wanderlust and Love. I am so excited about Tupe & Maggie, which is a Southern Gothic twist on An Affair to Remember. While the Descended of Dragons series is fantasy romance, I think readers of all genres will love this story. I certainly do.
Jen Crane My advice for aspiring writers is to read everything you can get your hands on. Learn the genre(s) you love, learn the business, learn about marketing.

The most important piece of advice, though, may be that aspiring writers should just go for it! Go ahead; take that first step. The first chapter of my books always suck. Absolute crap. But, writing is also about revision (OMG is it!), and what's important is that a writer...writes.

To aspiring writers I say put words on a screen and begin your story. If you have to take out the first chapter (or three) later, so be it. That rough beginning is a means to an end, and it's necessary--at least for me. But if a writer never starts....they'll certainly never finish.

And when an aspiring writer isn't writing, they should be joining a local writers group, reading up about the publishing industry, and about self-promotion. Takes a WHOLE lotta that.
