Hi MaryEllen:) I am equally as challenged, my daughter helped me a lot at first. I started with using Wix.com for my website after going to GoDaddy to get my address. It was very simple and they did a lot of the work. But with my blog it wasn't as user friendly, so I switched everything over to Wordpress.com. There's a bit more work involved but they do have themes to pick from to get started. I still find myself looking up how to do things. Blogging is much easier there as are the interactions and dealing with comments. I've had a few issues with being unsubscribed to sites I'd subscribed to, but I have learned as I go. I use my site to list my books and links, blogging, list books I've read, about me and how to contact me. It is whatever you want and need.
I saw another message from you in my email but can't find it to respond. I have been into researching my family history, too.
There are a lot options out there that can be overwhelming, just pick what seems to work for you and there is a lot answers I've found on the internet when you get stuck on one thing-- which I still do :)
Thanks for the question I hope it helped a bit. There are people who will help you with this for a fee. Have a great week.

You are the best. I have been writing on Wattpad for a year now. I was a registered nurse but I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and couldn’t work anymore. I have always been an artsy fartsy kind of person dappling in everything from being a florist to now writing. And I just self published a book called The Yellow Cookie Jar. It was from listening to my husband’s family around the dinner table about where they lived in the Delta of Mississippi during a time during the uprising of the racial crisis in Jackson. He came from a famous family, that owned three plantations and one of them is in working order today. His first cousin lives there. I learned all about this family because he inherited a Catholic Family Bible with the first entry date being 1700. Duncan McDougall came here from Glasgow Scotland, through St. John’s Island, Newfoundland. He was a beaver trapper for the Astor family. I have been researching this for 15 years and every name that is in the Bible is correct. I have found so many people and have put together so many due to my research and ancestry made me the person who is over this lineage in the USA. On the other side, is my family who came from Aberdare Wales and I was born in Rio de Janeiro because of my father’s work, taking him there to start steel mills after the ww2. He went to England, Japan, Scotland, and Lastly Brasil where I was born. I came here when I was 3 through Ellis Island and although my mother had to be processed and did not due to my father’s citizenship was American. Anyway thank you so much for the friendship and I hope to read your books and I will extend my hand and ask you to read my short story. It would be a pleasure for me to see what you think about it and if I am worthy to be here. I have written 26 books on Wattpad and I was considered for their biggest award this year on the Watty’s. I have won so many awards and found some great friends that have helped me with my writing. But, Thank you so much for your friendship and I hope we can talk again soon. As ever, Maryellen

I am currently working on my third children's book, "Things on a Tree". It's based off a story I used to tell my kids on Christmas Eve. It has a few twists they won't recognize...lol. This book is in the editing phase. I am, also, putting together a book that includes my poetry, my photography and a more personal story based some things I went through called: "No Fairytale--A Realty of a girl who wasn't a Princess and her poetry". I have been spending some time putting my "old" work on my laptop in between. I will be focusing on both children and adults. Looking at 2016 for releases for both and more to come!
