I spent several years checking grammar, spelling, and punctuation - one sentence at a time. I constantly referred to an English grammar book, a dictionary, and my software's version of grammar and spellcheck. After all that, I still found some errors after I published. Everything about the editing process was difficult for me. If you can afford a professional editor, I would highly recommend it.
