Mack Moyer The idea for Sketches of the Wigwam came to me when I almost drove my ambulance off the road in the coal country regions in Pennsylvania. (There was no patient in the rig, thankfully.)

Mind you, I've had very little experience driving on mountains, especially in a vehicle that handles as shitty as an ambulance.

The GPS went buggy after we finished a long transport. On our way back to base the annoying robot lady who lives in the GPS told me to turn onto a creepy dirt path. I could barely see the road because the mountain was foggy as hell that night.

I took one look at the path and said, "Nuh-uh." While trying to complete a U-turn I almost smacked into an old dude standing on the side of the road.

He wasn't a particularly scary looking guy, just some coal country hillbilly in sweatpants watching me. Something about that dude scared the shit out of me.

Two months later I finished a story about a Philly boy trying -- and mostly failing -- to navigate mountain roads. Oh, and getting hunted by the Wigwam, probably the most unpleasant mountain demon you'll ever meet..
