An error occurred while sorting questions for author David Johnson.
David Johnson I wish I had a good answer for that. I'm not sure where they come from. An idea just drops in sometimes, kind of like a seed, and I'll turn it over for a while, thinking about where a story might go.

My current writing project is "The Woodcutter's Wife," a Civil War era novel.

David Johnson I make myself write. "Writer's block" is created by the writer trying to formulate the words in their head until they are perfect. It's easy to get lost in your head doing that. So I just write whatever I'm thinking, knowing that I can go back and re-edit when and if necessary.
