I've always been a story teller--whether through music or writing stories, it's been part of who I am since I was a child. When I was in my twenty's my brother-in-law, who is also a fan of fantasy, told me he was going to write a book. I thought, "Wow, I want to write a fantasy book too." After that I started the long journey of world building, story creation and honing my writing skills--that process has been going on now for more than two decades.

I have created a world, characters and story that I believe has to be told. I am personally excited about the series and I can't wait for the author (oh, wait...that's me) to finish it, because I love the story and characters.

Develop your characters and story summary before you begin writing. Then write at least one page every day. Do this for several years and your writing will improve and you will have completed books.
Also, if you go back a year later and read your stuff and it isn't exciting and engaging to you, it won't be to anybody else either.

I love feedback from my readers. It's really fun to see what characters they relate to, and what their favorite scenes are.
Hopefully, the day will come when I can support myself solely by my books, and then the answer will include being self employed.

When writing epic fantasy, there is a LOT of pre-writing work you have to do. World building and character building is extensive. I also have the outline for the series, so I know the events that have to occur. Having all this information makes it so I don't get writers block. I know the characters so well that they practically write themselves. Because I have a summary of events that have to occur, I just go from one scene to the next and write what the characters in that situation would naturally do.

I am currently working on my second book in the Lemurian Chronicles and I am nearly halfway through the first draft. I am on schedule to release it in June of 2016!
