J.A. Wright Impending dooms grabs the world by the throat as a thug, a bully, and a true moron becomes President of the USA. He brings a bigot, misogynist, homophobic religious zealot on board to ensure the USA moves a hundred steps backward.
J.A. Wright Finding the time to write is my biggest challenge. It takes four or five days of writing for a few hours for me to get into a writing groove. I don't get this opportunity as often as I'd like as I have a job (to support my writing ambitions), and it too often gets in the way of my writing. I do keep a process diary (journal) that I add ideas and thoughts to almost daily.
J.A. Wright I don't deal with it very well. I'm pretty hard on myself about not getting something done on time. I've heard that giving yourself a break and adopting an attitude of gratitude is helpful. I might try it.
J.A. Wright The selfish outlet for creativity and expression. No one sees it until I release it, which enables me to do whatever I want - no judgements.
J.A. Wright I think it's hard for writers like myself to break out of a writing groove in order to perform in their other world. Because of this, I might not write for a few days or weeks if I have a big family commitment or if my paying job requires my undivided attention.
J.A. Wright A novel. But I'm not 100% sure if my outline will fit the outcome.
J.A. Wright I often see or hear something that my brain wants to expand on. It might stew in my mind for a few days, but eventually it comes out in the form of a story or a poem.
J.A. Wright While my novel How to Grow an Addict is NOT my personal story, I do relate to my protagonist's journey as I've been clean and sober since 1985. Throughout my recovery, I've met hundreds of young women who (like me) hit an addiction bottom in their twenties. Most with similar stories regarding childhood and family troubles and all with a desire to find relief from feeling bad at a young age. This novel is my attempt to convey an accurate example of the type of childhood conditions that can nurture addiction.
