It came from so many things, I don't even know. Seems like it's been there forever. What the idea really came down to was, I wanted to write a book or series of books, that I myself would love to read.

I'm so tired of being poor, that alone is a pretty good motivation, knowing that my "day job" is not going to get any better! Seriously, what I do is imagine that what I'm writing is a movie, I watch the scenes that I've already written, as if they were playing on a big screen in my head. Usually, something will come from that.

Other than bang my head against the wall? Well, I do something other than write. Just put the work away for a few days. Maybe I'll marathon some books and movies. Sometimes you have to get some distance.
