I meant to answer that last question about writers' block. My remedy is hazelnut coffee, preferably in one of my favorite cafes where I can eavesdrop on stimulating conversations. Coffee does indeed get the brain working I find.

In today's environment, it has become easy to self-publish but next to impossible to get attention. The big houses have their own stables of known authors. If you are young enough - and patient - there are hundreds of small niche publishers to approach with your enquiry. But do not write for money; write for the love of it - and keep your day job.

My collection of eighteen essays on a variety of subjects - travel, communication. modernism, aging, marriage and children - is now in production at Luminare Press. Most people seem to think that a writer is someone very special, but truly a writer is just a person who loves words and enjoys putting them together in sentences. Those I know who entertain the idea of writing would find the actual activity extremely tedious.

I discovered Jeremy Brett through his starring role in the Sherlock Holmes series from the 1980s, which still may be viewed on YouTube. But it was the moving story of this man's life - a story that had yet to be told - that compelled me to take on his biography.
