I know nothing about my grandparents, apart from the grandmother on my father's side. Neither of my parents are open about thier parents so I have little information to use for research purposes. It would be lovely to find out more about my ancestors.

Either Cathy and Heathcliff or Morticia and Gomez Adams. Cathy/Heathcliff for the wildness of their love which is mirrored within the area. Morticia/Gomez are the most romantic couple who will always go out of their way to please each other. The fact that they are a "gothic" couple makes them all the more pleasing. In a world where "normal" couple seem to "destroy" each other, it shows that the "weird" ones know what they are doing.

I don't. It is something that everyone deals with. But I definitely don't try to write when I can't.

The ability to be creative. It also gives me a chance to be me, and put the emotions that could threaten to overwhelm me, have a place to surface without causing too much damage.

I suppose there is no better advice is to write and read. And read and write what you want to. Don't feel you have to follow a trend, or you should not write something that society feels has no merit. If you enjoy it, chances are so will someone else.
Also don't let imperfections trouble your work. I am dyslexic and that does mean that something the way I write is not "logical". But I got myself a good editor and that helped, but mistakes still slipped through.

As well as the second book of what the working title of "The Blood Series", I am more than three quarters of the way though my next poetry collection. The second book of the series is called "Blood Brother" and it is happening at the same time as the first book.
The poetry book is going to be a collection of poems inspired by Black Petal (my nickname) and her life, but broken up by the elements. So, each section would be connected to Air, Fire, Water, Earth and Spirit.

People. Sometimes imagery. I see a vision of something and think that should be in the novel and working back from that. As a poet, sometimes it can be something as simple as a sentence or title that can produce a poem.

My novel was a shield to protect me from the terrible situation that was my life. The pain, and unrequited love become the back bone of the work. When my life finally improved, that was reflected in the novel. I soon realised that this was more than just a shield it was a story that needed to be shared. Also I realised that there was more than one story to be told and I know that this was going to be book one of three.
