Jill G. Hall Yes! All three of my books are standalones. My character Anne McFarland is in all three but you can read them in any order. Thank you so much for requesting 'The Green Lace Corset.' I hope you enjoy it!
Jill G. Hall I would like to visit Manderley, the mansion in "Rebecca" by Daphne Du Maurier. I just love that novel. It would be spooky to walk through all the rooms and think about what had happened in them.
Jill G. Hall When I’m stuck I do something else besides write. Some of my strongest breakthroughs have been when I’m not even thinking about it during yoga class, gardening or walking in nature. This is also when I use prompts. Maybe a line from a poem or an old postcard to get me going again.
Jill G. Hall I can write in my pajamas!
Jill G. Hall Find your community of writers who can support you along the way and help nourish your work. Take classes and workshops, go to drop-in writing sessions, and when ready join a read and critique group. I’m very lucky to have access to San Diego Writers, Ink a nonprofit for local writers. Even if you live in a rural area there are now many on-line writing group options.

Jill G. Hall I am working on my second novel about Claire a 1920s New York debutante who loses it all in the stock market crash and becomes an exotic dancer to save her family and herself.

In addition I continue to work on my poetry!
Jill G. Hall Most mornings, after I wake up, I get my tea and crawl back into bed with my journal and pen and write a few pages. I don’t check my phone or turn on my computer until after I’ve finished.

I like to use prompts such as those from Judy Reeves, "Writers Book of Days" and also visual prompts like magazine pictures, greeting cards and old postcards.

Writing in community at a drop-in group or workshop is inspiring too.

Jill G. Hall I found a black velvet coat at a yard sale and then I had a dream about an artist trying on a coat just like it in a thrift shop. It even had a key in the pocket.
