Helen, it's good to reconnect with you. I took a chance and googles your name and it came up with your book. Congratulations on publishing. I have always felt badly about your reaction to the question I asked you in Atlanta about your ability to travel. You thought that I only asked it because of your kids but that wasn't it, I asked all that John and I interviewed that question. I hope your are well?

Did your experiences at Fannie Mae help to shape your ideas on social values and customs?
Helen Eltzeroth Thank you for your question Roger. The answer is yes - I was very naive when I first came to DC, and this experience plus all of my life experiences continued to shape my views on social values and norms. My personal values were influenced by the teachings and examples I received from my parents.

How do you get inspired to write?
Helen Eltzeroth I feel strongly about social values and customs. I wanted to inspire others to think about their own social values and to tell their own stories about how their values were formed,

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Helen Eltzeroth I started the book about 15 years ago as a way to discuss broad social customs through a series of essays. When I semi-retired, I picked the book up again, and it evolved into a book containing stories and a look into my personal life to highlight the influences my family and community had on my social values.
