it can be everywhere or anytime, this is why I always keep a pen and a notebook close to me, when I receive an inspiration or a nice idea I write it down or I will forget. After a while that turns into a chapter or a new book.
Usually the best ideas come at night, just before sleeping or even in my dreams, so if I wake up I write them down immediately. But it can also happen while walking in the park or observing people in a cafè.
