F.G. Laval Currently reading through Mark Lawrence's 'Book of the Ancestor' trilogy - I do love stories with ass-kicking female leads!

Can't wait for the release of Martha Well's new novel from the Murderbot Diaries - just simply brilliant stuff.

Also - much looking forward to the release of Megan Whelan Turner's 'Return of the Thief' - I have read and re-read her books, starting with 'The Thief' - if you haven't had the pleasure, you will not be disappointed.
F.G. Laval My most recent book called The Prince and the Assassin, is derived from a story strand in my first book - The Prince of Carentan. The story answers a particular unanswered question from that first book relating to a specific character. Sorry if that is a bit vague (no spoilers here!)
F.G. Laval Other writers inspire me. Music inspires me, as does nature... being outside, the sunshine, the rain (yes, I don't mind rain. My cat is called Rain, so you could say I love Rain!)
F.G. Laval I'm currently working on a medieval fantasy novel, which is part of The Carentan Series, although it is also a stand-alone story, so readers don't have to necessarily read the other books to enjoy this one. Which is also true of all the other books in the series.
F.G. Laval Read, write, re-write, re-read, write. Repeat.
F.G. Laval Populating worlds with fascinating people and exploring their motivations and behaviours. Characters surprise me as much in my own stories as they do in real life!
F.G. Laval If I'm writing a novel, I try to work through it not minding if what I write isn't up to scratch - I can always put it right later. Sometimes a break from current work in progress to work on something different like a short story or a poem works for me. I also get inspired by reading my favourite authors.
