Giles Chanot Drink coffee. Go for a walk. Play with the kids. Chat to my wife.

Giles Chanot If there's something about a book you're reading you don't like, you have the choice to stop reading it. But, if you're the author, you can keep working at it until it's completely satisfying.

What are you currently working on?
Giles Chanot I'm currently working on a Sherlock Holmes thriller set in 1881. Some of the characters you will recognise, but hopefully it's original enough to give Conan Doyle fans a brand new thrill. Should be coming out in a couple of months.

How do you get inspired to write?
Giles Chanot I love reading great books. My favourite books have a simple and easy to read style, without lots of long words put in just to impress people. Which made me realise I should give it a go.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Giles Chanot I'd heard the the British Government had shortlisted Newquay in Cornwall for a space port. To me that just sounded like the start of a very funny book! I hope you agree...
