Jay E. Tria For now it's a single book but I really want it to be the beginning of a series someday soon :)
Jay E. Tria The book I'm writing now is for StrangeLit, a paranormal/fantasy writing workshop sponsored by Buqo. I've never written paranormal before, though I read the genre (The Mediator, If Only It Were True, Blood and Chocolate, and yes, the Twilight Saga), so this is a fun writing exercise for me.

I've been wanting to write about death, and the life that you live carrying the burden of losing someone you love. This was not supposed to be a paranormal plot, but I guess anyone who has lost someone would feel like they're living in a ghost story. I know I do sometimes.
Jay E. Tria I'm doing finishing touches on my second book, a New Adult romance out next week called Songs of Our Breakup. I've sent my paranormal novella for Buqo's StrangeLit workshop to my editor. Then I'm working on the sequels to Songs of Our Breakup, and possibly writing an outline for a music festival story. So yeah, I'm all about butt-in-chair these days. Friends? What friends??
Jay E. Tria You know how you can't control most things in life? Well when you write, you can. You can live a life that you don't, get to know people you've never met, or only wanted to meet. You get to dive inside your head and your heart and just say, "hello! Is anyone in there? Does anyone want to come out?"
Jay E. Tria Butt in chair. Or I read a book or watch a movie. Sometimes I just need chocolate. But mostly it's just butt-in-chair. I've recently started to believe that emergence is real, as long as you force yourself to sit down and type something.
