Heh, I'm already working on it. It dates back to when I was building a welfare tracking system for a state government. Let's just say it involves potential computer fraud on a massive scale (the truth may have been much more mundane, but then again, it might not have been).

A sequel to The Forged Prince. While I didn't end on a cliffhanger, I think I left some room to continue the story!

I just don't get it. I could go take a nap and then write down my dreams when I wake up (while I still recall them) and I would have the basis for something.

Pretty much everything but the money. I would have to sell hundreds of books an hour, continuously, forever (or at least until retirement which is still quite a ways off) to persuade me to drop my day job.

Write every day. No matter how tired, do at least ONE SENTENCE if that's all you can manage. Aim for at least an hour or two but do something. It's like going to the gym--skip a day and skipping the next day is even easier.

I don't know that I've ever not been. When I was just out of fourth grade I recall trying to write a novel about two kids that are shrunk down and forced to live in a beehive with the bees. It was very frustrating when I realized I just didn't have the skills to do this yet. My high school graduation gift was an electric typewrite (don't laugh, I was the only boy in my high school typing class). Then I spent most of that summer dashing off short stories and mailing them out, I think I still have some very nice, multiple page, single-spaced, typed rejection letters from some names that have gotten rather more prominent over time. Like an idiot kid I assumed they didn't like my work.

I've always been fascinated by mythology. How many kids ask for the encyclopedias of mythology after exhausting the resources of the local library? Celtic myth falls close to my roots but is a wide open playing field that's been overshadowed by a thousand and one Arthurian works of fiction (and a ton more of those books that always display a hairless, shirtless guy on the cover that are, ostensibly, Celtic romances).
