Glad you asked - it holds me accountable! Progress on them slowed down a little over the past year and a half due to a couple big career/life decisions/changes but they are still very much in the works.
At the moment I'm editing a couple of short novellas that I wrote for National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) but I've also been working on the second parts of Penance and The Luthier in tandem - that is, when I'm slowing down on one, I work on the other to give myself a breather.
I should be back on track to have a novel released by the end of summer and another soon after. I'm aiming for Penance to release sometime between fall and the holiday season... Which may mean spring, given how my deadlines seem to slip away from me... ;)
Nice to hear from you!

I was on a flight when I started writing the first chapter, not really knowing where the story would go. After that, the novel became a series of "what-ifs." What if a zombie-type virus hit northern Canada? What would the differences be? What if the main character, a generally capable guy, was claustrophobic and continually had to push himself through situations that would aggravate his fear? What if his the memory of his emotionally abusive father followed him through the deserted streets? What if... Well, I don't want to give any more away!

"The Luthier." Although the story and characters are not based on factual events or people, the setting and many scenes are based loosely on my own experiences as a violinist. You can find out a bit more here:

It should be available around Christmas 2015.

Music helps a lot. While I'm writing, I try to listen to music that suits the theme or mood of the story. It also helps me tune out distractions. If I'm really stuck, I like to get a bit of exercise which usually refreshes me a bit. I take the dog for a walk or I go to a hot yoga class to get my mind off it and re-energize. After that I can generally attack the problem with fresh eyes.
