Jamie Barys Our next destinations: Glutton Guide Melbourne, Prague & Buenos Aires. Of course, I'm not writing this one, as all of our books are written by local food professionals in the city, but I'm editing all three books.
Jamie Barys I've been writing about food in China since 2008 - it's what made me fall in love with the country and stay here for nearly a decade. My mission in life is simple: help visitors to and residents of Shanghai eat well. I set out to achieve her goal in 2010 by launching UnTour Shanghai, a food tour company that guides guests to the best local hole-in-the-wall vendors and street food stands on a walking tour. Now in 2015, I have taken my experiences as a food tour operator over the past five years and taken my passion a step further with Glutton Guide Shanghai, the first e-guidebook in a new series dedicated to uncovering a city’s best places to eat and drink.

Jamie Barys When my co-author (Kyle Long) and I travel, we plan our days entirely around where we’re going to eat. Lately, whenever we planned a trip, we found doing the research to create an excellent food-based itinerary was increasingly challenging. Between out-of-date guidebooks and the overwhelming amount of crowdsourced online resources, there were too many conflicting reports on where to eat, what to order and how much to pay, not to mention travel stories by out of town writers listing the same old recycled content. Glutton Guide is designed to make sure our readers never fall into a tourist trap again – whether they’re looking for Shanghai’s best dumpling shop, Italian restaurant or cooking class.
