Visiting a small town of my childhood on the very first spring day. The sun was shining, I was walking by little houses and I thought about a man who is hiding in the basement of one house, haunted and in love.

I put aside current work and try to write something different. A short story, for instance instead of novel. And as I am writing in two languages (Latvian and English) then I can switch to another one and forget my previous identity.

The best thing is that you can do something eccentric or different and none can blame you because you are a writer and writers do odd things. And you can always leave a boring party saying that you have to go to write a book.
