Well, I just bought "The Only Good Indians" by Stephen Graham Jones, so will definitely have that on the reading list! Also want to dive into Billy Collins' "Whale Day," an am impatiently waiting for the release of Amanda Gorman's "The Hill We Climb" later this year.

I'm not committed to anything at the moment, but I am slowly gathering poems for a follow-up to "Haunt." For the time being, all my time is going to promoting this book, which I'm seriously so proud of.

I've had a few of the poems for "Haunt" laying around for a while, unsure where they would find a home. When I was at school, I took up an independent study with a great, supportive teacher (thanks, Vivian Shipley!). I got to choose a topic, and a little under half of what is now "Haunt" was born.

Save everything you write. If you write out a stanza or a paragraph and you don't feel like it's going anywhere, don't scrap it. Save it. You never know--a few years down the road, you might find it again, and it might spark something that gets you going.

I switch my utensil! Weird, but it works. If I'm on my computer, I'll grab a pen & paper. If I'm using a pen, switch to a pencil. (Most of the time) it works wonders.
