This is a rather difficult question to answer since it really depends on the series I'm reading at the time. But, gun to my head answer, definitely Josh and Lissa from A Legend Is Born. As for why, to be honest, there's just this connection with those two and myself as they are my own creations.

Hi! Thank you for your question, I apologize for the delay in response time - I've been busy working on the very book you're enquiring about. While I don't have a definitive release date yet, my goal is to have it finished and released before the end of the year. I can promise you that I will get it out as quickly as possible without sacrificing quality.

My mom loved alien movies, anything that had aliens in it she had to see it. I was never really a huge fan of many of them myself. I never understood why all aliens had to be violent, reprehensible creatures intent on destroying humans and/or invading Earth. Then I started watching shows like Star Trek, DS9, Stargate, etc., and I really enjoyed the concept that not all alien races had to be evil. But when I tried to find books along those lines, I couldn't find much that didn't involve some annhialation or domination. So I came up with the idea to write a story about a race of friendly aliens that lived peacefully among humans on Earth. And so The Talonian Chronicles came to be.

For me, the best thing about being a writer is that I get to follow my dream. I have always loved to read and knew at a very young age that I wanted to be a writer.

I really don't go out of my way to get inspired, I just let it come organically. By that I mean I do everyday things until the incessant need to write overwhelms me. I find that when I try to "find" inspiration, my writing feels forced and that just means more work in the editing phase. So I just do what I enjoy doing, confident in the knowledge that when the story is ready to flow it will.

I take a break from the project until I feel the need to write again. Whether it's a week of nothing but reading, a day of cleaning, spending time on my eliptical, shopping, or playing games. Anything that doesn't involve my story really. When I start talking about the story, I know it's time to start writing again.

Currently I've had to put aside Exposed (The Talonia Chronicles: Book 2) to work on the second book in the Champions of the Night series.

The best advice I can give to aspiring writers is to be patient. Don't rush to publication just because you can. Take the time to write a great story, polish it the best you can then have someone else look over it for anything you missed (and you will miss a lot), invest in an awesome cover, and learn what you can about marketing before you release the book. Once you've done all that, release the book and start working on your next one. And whatever you do, don't stress over low sales or minimal reviews. Both will come in time if you wrote a great story and market it properly.
