Aragorn and Arwen are my favorite fictional couple. Not only is it an epic saga with a massive backstory, but they are a wonderfully dysfunctional couple. They are both reluctant warriors, star-crossed by genetics, and socially mismatched, that is until he becomes king. Yet through it all, they are more deeply in love than any characters in the book. This provides one of the greatest contrasts against the war adding a great deal to J.R.R.'s creation.
