Erika Rossas As an aspiring writer myself, I just like to say to everyone out there to not take things too seriously. When I was younger, I used to write for fun, write because it was one thing I'e always loved doing, but the second I decided I was trying to make a career of it, the fun just ran out the window and what came in was stress and worry and fear, which can do more damage than good.
So that's my biggest advice, always write what you love and because you love it, not because you have to. Write for yourself, that's the biggest chance you have of never giving up.
Erika Rossas Whenever I'm faced with writer's block, I already know it's because there's something in the story that's not supposed to be there, either it's in the plot, characters or scenery, so I usually just grab a piece of paper and try to lay out my entire story until I figure out what's wrong. The moment I get a new idea or decide to make some change, things start flowing again. It works about 99% of the time. If I'm in the 1% mood, then I go for a walk, a shower, read a book or two and hope for the best.
