I usually watch a good action-packed or sci-fi movie--preferably one that was formerly a book before it became a film. The action allows me to take my mind off my own plots and just enjoy the special effects. After taking that 2 hour break, for some reason I'm able to come back to my writing with fresh perspective. Somehow, it works for me!

Find something that excites you and just let those imaginative juices flow! It doesn't do any good to write about a topic you find dull and boring--your work will end up reflecting that same, disinterested tone. You'll find when you are truly passionate about the topic, you'll spend a lot of your free time meditating on various ways you can spin your storyline. Just make sure you jot those thoughts down so that you don't lose them!

Right now I am currently putting the final creative touches on the second book in the series--'The Swan Lady' before the editing fun begins. I had fun writing this sequel and I hope the readers enjoy it as well.
