I have a publisher, Caliburn Press, that is based in Wisconsin. I'm not an editor by training; I would therefore be terrified to publish without one. A Caliburn editor, Merethe Walther, helped me with Future Imperfect. Frankly, by the time the book was published, I had been through it and made so many edits that I was sick of the thing. And yet, I still find turns of phrase and/or problems with the final book that make me want to scream.
That said, I think the final product is something I can live with, warts and all, real or imagined.
As for time line discrepancies: I certainly hope not. I didn't give myself many opportunities to do that with the first book. I won't be getting into too much trouble with that stuff until later books. And then, hopefully, I'll be able to keep it together.
Thanks for reading.

The sequel to Future Imperfect is in the works. I'm going to start putting that one to paper very soon.
I have a short story completed. It's called According to Nigel, and it's one of my favorite things I have ever written. I need to make a decision about how to distribute that, but it will be soon.
I may have some other short fiction on the way as well.

The only advice I think I'm qualified to give is this: don't write for any reason other than you enjoy it. Statistics tell us we're not likely to become fabulously wealthy. Writing and getting a book published is far too much work if you don't actually enjoy the creative process. There are a lot of easier and more efficient ways to make a buck than writing. (There are, however, few that are as much fun.)
That said, if this is what cranks your engine, write away!

I don't really have that problem. I have lots of ideas. The much bigger problem is actually getting to write. The publishing and promotional side of dealing with a book, to say nothing of the technology side of things, is time-consuming and not very fun. Honestly, I cant wait until September 1 comes and goes so I can actually start writing again.
