Aaron-Michael Hall Sorry that I missed this question, Leo!

I have thought about actors who might fit various roles. Thus far, only a few actors come to mind: Sean Penn as Draizeyn, Morgan Freeman as Malachi, Chris Evans as Pentanimir (?), Peter Mensah as Kuhani, and Idris Elba as a Jasiri. Yes, in a perfect world, this would work. :) I wanted Oprah for Huname as well. I think each of these actors would be exceptional.
Aaron-Michael Hall Oh gosh, many. :) I am a professional photographer and still love taking photos whenever time permits. I am also a music lover. Since I was ten, I have played numerous instruments (flute, French horn, Bass Violin, and piano mainly) and still enjoy doing so. I have done live theatre and a few student films, as well as some voice-over work.
Aaron-Michael Hall The actual name came to me before the world was even created. Faélondul started with just two characters (Pentanimir and Brahanu) and an idea. I wanted to create a story that was completely different from what was out there. There were stories that I wanted to read (and watch) that did not exist. So, Faélondul began to develop. It is a diverse world with a host of characters, species, and more. I do not hit the usual Epic Fantasy tropes involving elves, orcs, dragons, etc. There are plenty of wonderful stories with those usual creations. I preferred creating my own. My Desu Beasts are my favorites.
Aaron-Michael Hall I have always loved languages and creating words. My siblings and I had our own language/communication when we were children. When I was a teenager, I started creating different types of words, worlds, and species. Some of those, I use now in the Nazil and Shifter trilogies.

My mother loved SciFi and I am certain that it rubbed off on me in the best ways. I enjoyed fantasy much later. Being able to create life and worlds with my imagination intrigued me as a child and enthralls me now.
Aaron-Michael Hall I have always had a love for Science Fiction and Fantasy. It was only natural for me to write (and interweave these genres). My mother introduced me to SciFi novels and it just blossomed from there.
Aaron-Michael Hall Good question! :) I use, “with an EDGE” due to some of the content that is integral to the plot. I never shy away from some of the harsher realities that are a part of human nature and in our histories. Even in fantasy, there is reality. Some of these things are interwoven into the multilayered plot.
Aaron-Michael Hall Inspiration is everywhere. I have written all of my life and have never had to seek out anything to write about. In fact, I wish I could turn my imagination off at times. :)
Aaron-Michael Hall There are many! Andre Norton, N.K. Jemisin, R.A. Salvatore, Octavia Butler, Neil Gaiman, Ursula K Le Guin, Stephen King, and R. Scott Bakker are just a few. I am certain each has influenced me in different ways. Most likely to realize that anything can be created and only our imagination limits us.
Aaron-Michael Hall It shifts with each book. Book I- Itai Gael by far (Thalassa too). His sacrifices and honesty is remarkable. He is not a perfect character which is something else that I love. Book II- Ahvixx Ahllendale. His innocence and integrity is touching. He is a character that you want to hug in one moment and slap some sense into in another. :) Book III-Arymeis Benoist. While developing his character, I fell in love with who he is and what he represented. It did not hurt that my illustrator used my son's photo to create his image. :)
Aaron-Michael Hall Thank you. I use them consistently. I am currently working on a different type of language for another species, however, Mehlonii is the arcane language that is widely known. It started basic, but there are a few hundred words. I doubt that more would be needed for the rest of the series.
Aaron-Michael Hall There are numerous battle scenes that I love. However, the personal scenes between characters are more fulfilling to me. The interactions between Danimore and Pentanimir, Sahma and Ahvixx, Arymeis and Symeon...there are many. Characterization is extremely important to me.
Aaron-Michael Hall I have always love Science Fiction. I do write Science Fantasy, but that is not the same. :) I do not think that I could successfully write pure SciFi the way it should be written. However, who knows what the future might hold.
Aaron-Michael Hall Oh, gosh! I could never choose only one. There are so many wondrous literary works that I enjoy.
Aaron-Michael Hall Thank you. I spend as much time writing as I can. Most nights, I am up until the wee hours when it is quiet. However, I feel it when the alarm blares and it is time to start a new day.
Aaron-Michael Hall I have always had a love of languages. My grandparents and elder relatives spoke several. It fascinated me then and now. When I was in school, I studied what ever languages were offered. After visiting Africa, I started studying many others (Amharic is my favorite).
Aaron-Michael Hall My most recent novel is a prequel to my Epic Fantasy. I had several readers ask some interesting questions. From those emails (and my sisters persistence) I started developing this novel.
Aaron-Michael Hall LOL. Well, I am not certain about anyone else, but mine do not like to dress up at all. It is difficult to even have them wear reindeer antlers for Christmas. :)
Aaron-Michael Hall Oh, thank you.

In order to write my characters, I truly have to know them. That sounds simple; I know. But it is more complicated than it sounds. A lot of author create profiles and do character interviews. I feel this is one way to make you think about who your characters are and what motivates them.

Honestly, I just write what I “feel” from them. They are all very special to me and I love them (even the not-so-nice ones).

My plots are usually a bit complex. There is always one MAIN plot and then a half-dozen others just beneath the surface. My novels are not meant for the casual reader. They are more for the readers that love to be submersed within the pages of a novel and read every word. If you skim any novels in The Rise of Nazil trilogy, you will most likely be lost. The amount of subtleties woven throughout will be missed and take away from the essence of the whole.

I appreciate your question and hope I gave a decent response. :) Thank you for reading and taking an interest in my trilogy. You are greatly appreciated.
Aaron-Michael Hall I am currently completing book IV in The Rise of Nazil series.
Aaron-Michael Hall The second book in the series, Seed of Scorn, is set for release in February 2016.
