On a day when even shadows hid, too frightened to face the hard cold truth, less than half the voting population carried out their civic duty. Upon waking the next morning, hearts dropped from chests and hope melted into the blood soaked earth when the citizens realized what they'd done - the orange faced, straw haired, crust-ridden Trumpkin was now their president.

Hermione and Ron. Why? They're adorable. I love how contrasting and complimentary they are at the same time.

I love AND hate that you asked this. Okay... here goes. My WILDEST dream is to inspire enough people and spark enough conversation through my work, how I live my life and how I treat others that I am able to be a leader for positive change. I want to create opportunities for inspiration. Inspiration for people to be the fullest expression of their authentic self. I believe my writing is a way I can accomplish that!

A really pathetic semi-diary entry from college plus a dream about said diary entry. Seriously. Always write and don't judge. You never, never know.

First, don't take anything personally. What someone thinks about your writing is about them, not you. That doesn't mean they don't have solid feedback and advice, they just might, but it isn't about YOU. Think about that.
This next piece of advice is actually advice from the great Amy Poehler and is something I live by, "Great people do things before they are ready." Your writing will never be finished unless you say it's finished. There are amazing authors all over the world without a publication because it "isn't ready" or "good enough". The day an artist looks at his work and thinks, "This is it. This is as brilliant as I get," it's over.

Everything. Every. Single. Thing.

By always writing when something came to me, no matter where I was or who I was with. It was rude sometimes...oh well. Writing without judgement; deleting is easy, creating is hard. Just let it flow and the right thing will stick. And, of course, AIS (ass in seat). Also, never admit you have a block to yourself. You'll obsess. You're an artist. It's what we do.
