I've always loved writing. And most of stories from childhood are completely ridiculous, but very entertaining haha! As an avid reader, I've often read a book and thought, I can do that! I can write like this. So I've created stories from a young age. Most never got very far. I don't work from an outline, so I just write where the idea takes me. Sometimes the idea goes away, but sometimes it sticks around and something substantial comes from it. With my first published story, Where Darkness Dwells, I had a question I wanted answers to. It's based off an article about those 3 young women abducted in Cleveland. How do you survive that? Can you? I obviously never want that experience, but I couldn't get the questions out of my head, so I wrote a story and at the end of it, I found an answer to those questions, at least from the perspective of my main characters, Caleb and Evie.

I am currently working on a project involving a young woman with severe trust issues against all men because of the abandonment by her father. She struggles to learn it's not "all men" and that there really are good guys out there and you don't have to look that hard to find one. It's a story about gaining perspective, relearning how to view the world, and hopefully finding real love along the way.

Sometimes it's a song that "speaks" to me. Sometimes it's just an idea in my head I have to jot down.

Over a year ago, after watching the news, and seeing reports about abductions, a story formulated about two teens being kidnapped from their high school and what experiences they might go through and how they fight to stay alive.
