Hey Ben. Just wanted to give a shout out to a fellow boxer and writer. Although I've only been boxing for 2 years and I started at 49, I have to say, the sport builds and reveals character, testing mental and physical fortitude. Wouldn't you agree? I'm looking forward to reading Something in the Air. Happy holidays.

Ben Starling Hi Scott, Glad to meet a fellow boxer writer. Yes, boxing has always been fascinating for me too. Many tend to think of it as a bit of a brutal sport, but I enjoy it for the technique and the strategy of the game. If you can include strategy in your plan – defensive parries, counters to your opponent’s every move, footwork that is active rather than reactive… it opens up a lot of possibilities. I hope you enjoy Something in the Air. And on January 21, 2016, Something in the Water will be released...and one of the key characters is a boxer!

Hi Ben, Thanks for friending me. We have something in common other than writing. I also have an acting background. I was a theater major in college, but that was a long time ago. Another author asked me to trade reviews and I am currently reading his book, Proud Patrick. I just finished my friend's book, The Silver Cord, by Alison Caiola. Alison is an old friend. What are you currently reading?

Ben Starling Hi Effie, I'm reading Lost For Words by Alice Kuipers. It was recommended to me by a friend and is excellent. I try to learn something new from every book I read and this one is beautifully structured. It has drawn me right in - I'm hooked! I look forward to your thoughts on the books you are reading too.
