Bill Kieffer Rina Lazarus and Peter Decker
I like their interplay and their devout devotion to their faith against the backdrop of crime and danger. The setting and dangers are familiar but through the filter of Orthodox Judism, it is all made new.
Bill Kieffer I try to power thru it without stressing, and sometimes that works. I'll write nonsense if I have to. Twitter and Facebook is good for that.

Ofttimes, it seems distraction is a bigger problem for me.

Facebook and Twitter are bad that way.
Bill Kieffer The Goat: Building The Perfect Victim will be out sometime in 2016 from Red Ferret Press. It'll be my first book.

Years ago, when you had time to make tea while you computer dialed into a server, I discovered Furry Mucks. These were text palaces where you can be anyone, anything you wanted. I made many friends there, but my closest friend was a man who felt he wasn't human at all. He wasn't there to pretend to be a goat, but to be the goat he was inside. He had Dysphoria, which is a real medical issue. At first, expressing himself as a goat online was such a relief and joy that for the first years, he was very happy.

BUT, eventually, of course, releasing his true self online became vastly frustrating to him. He had grown his innerself so much, and was accepted by all in Furry, that he eventually realized his outerself... his real body... was a lie. He had bouts of self-destructive behaviors.

My friend realized that it was time to leave the Furry Community. It had grown him, it had nurtured him, but it had now trapped him and he went off to find a life outside of all those neat little ones and zeroes.

Eventually, he found happiness.

He inspired The Goat's Glenn. Only I've added magic to the mix and a lot more violence. Glenn does not exactly find happiness...
