The idea for Silver Awakening began in 2008. It was quite different back then. Later, in the latter part of 2011, I was watching an X-files re-run one night (because I'm a proud geek) and something in the episode triggered a memory that evolved into a vision of Silver running through the woods which spawned the story that exists now. My idea for Sins, Hims, and Whims of a Single Mother, which is my blog title and also the title of the novella I hope to eventually finish, began as a series of short stories that are based on my real life experiences as a single mother, as well as the experiences of other women I know. I was a single mother for twelve years and it was hard, but I learned more about myself, about faith in God, and about how to truly love during my single motherhood journey than any other time in my life. I want to share the things I've learned and that's what I hope to achieve with Sins, Hims, and Whims of a Single Mother...IF I can ever get the chance to finish it. I do still have a full-time job, which is very demanding of my time...and I'm still a mother.

Make the time to write. Do your homework before you self-publish or start querying. Let others read your work. Take criticism with a grain of salt. Value feedback from your readers. Get online, live online, promote online...no one will promote your work better than you will. Love people and open up to them. Pray often.

I love to use my imagination. Writing lets me do that. I think of stories all the time and I want to get them out into the world simply for the fun of it.

I take a break and come back later.
