Kye Kitsune Being the first to see realities come into existence.
Kye Kitsune Four things:

1: Imbibing writing advice is an excuse to not write. Be honest with yourself. All that great advice is best saved for when you have something finished and want to take it to the next level.

2: Your first 30,000 words will be garbage, and the next 20,000 will be spotty. Some of them might contain salvageable ideas, but you're better off starting fresh with new stories. Editing is for stories you plan to publish, and very little of your early work can be saved.

3: Don't throw your old stuff away. Take a look at what you've written at least once a year and ask yourself some questions: Is this worse than the last thing I wrote? Better? What's present in this old stuff that's not present in the new, and should I bring it back?

4: All ideas are brilliant, but you won't always be prepared to execute on it. If something just isn't working, consider setting it aside. Sometimes you either need to go out and experience life a bit or study someone else's before you can figure out how to bring a story together.
Kye Kitsune Aside from flash fiction and super-short shorts, I'm on a writing break. Alternating with art, photography, and music when I burn out one out keeps me from stressing over things too much.

However, I do have some backburnered projects I intend to continue. Buried in my Scrivener folder are a post-apocalyptic fantasy, a romance story, and a western. Can't really say much on them. :)
