Writer's block is overrated. I might take a day off here and there and I was away from it for about a year to deal with a health issue, but for the most part writer's block is overcome by putting my seat in the seat in front of the computer, putting my hands on the keyboard and writing. Don't stay away from your current work in progress too long or you will never get back to it and it will always just sit there undone.

The best thing about being a writer for me is that I followed my dream. I always wanted to write. The very best thing is when a reader tells me how much he/she enjoyed reading one of my books. I had one reader tell me I had become her very favorite author. That inspires me to keep on writing.

Follow your dream. If you have always dreamed about becoming a writer, start to write. Just start. Discipline yourself and start putting words on paper. Don't worry about the first draft, you won't publish it anyway. Just keep writing. You will go back several times during rewrites and make it better. And the most important thing: Strive for excellence, not perfectionism.

I am currently in the last phases of rewrites on another thriller in my Sandra Eversol series.

I love to read. It seemed a natural progression for me to follow my love of reading and start writing. I published my first novel in 2008 and except for taking some time off to deal with a health problem, I have been writing ever since. I have five novels published.

I got the idea for my most recent book from a television movie I saw. I don't worry that the idea has been done before. Every idea out there has been either written about, talked about, or made into a movie. I take the idea and make it my own. I write my own story based on the idea and since I write thrillers, I put my own twist on it.
