I.O. Neil There is only one way that writer's block effects me and that's when I become overwhelmed, either by having so much going on in life or by the endless possibilities of the project I'm working on. It stops me in my tracks.

How do I deal with that? I stare out the window. Okay, to put it another way, I think. A lot. Never let anyone tell you that sitting motionless, cup of tea in hand, and staring out the window isn't work, because it is. My mind is working hard on finding the right direction. And, that method has always come through for me.

Find what works for you. Maybe listening to music, doing some physical activity, reading, watching TV... something that allows your mind to work the problem out.

I've never experienced the type of writer's block where I just can't write. That somehow the words just don't flow. So, I certainly don't find myself qualified to offer any advice in that area. Open up to fellow writers and ask them for help with writer's block. You'll get a lot of help. Trust me on that. We're all in this together.
