Through a mixture of things... stories I read in the press or documentaries I watch on youtube.... I am also a great observer of human behaviour and situations (it helps me in my consulting work)
With Duty and Deceit I wrote it as if I was watching it as a film.... sometimes I was scared I was writing a screenplay rather than a book! I wanted to make it very evocative and atmospheric.
