That was a combination of multiple factors, notably my enjoyment of certain aspects of the Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay setting (https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en...), the gothic architecture of Antwerp, and my desire to tell an epic tale that can stand on its own, without necessarily doing it in a trilogy or an even longer series.

Good question. I could use some advice on that one myself. I suppose it depends: if you don't know what to write, I don't know what to do about that. You'll need to get inspired but I don't think you can really force that. I would say: step away for a bit and focus on something else, preferably something that clears your mind, some kind of physical activity. If you do know what to write but you just don't feel like writing, my advice is: start writing anyway. If after an hour you still don't have anything at all, maybe you should revise the story you have planned, but in most cases, you'll eventually get into the flow after an initial push.

I am one myself, so take that into account, but my advice would be: just write what you love and what excites you and don't chase down the approval of the high-minded. Chances are you'll actually create something with much more personality that way than if you very consciously try to avoid every pitfall or cliché.

"Witch Hunter Legends" will be a collection of shorter stories set in the world of "Witch Hunter". Some will shed more light on the story that is already there and set the stage for the eventual sequel.
