Giselle Simlett Never underestimate what a James Newton Howard song can do.
Giselle Simlett First and most obviously: never give up.
Second, don't assume you have a good story. Goodreads has a BETA reading page that you can use to see if others like your story.
Third, get a professional editor. You can use UpWork or even look on Google for professional editors. Don't you dare think you alone can edit your work - you are wrong.
Fourth, send it to agents! Don't go straight to self-publishing (in my opinion). Some of us do, but let me tell you, it costs money! I didn't even realise how much until I was in too deep. Try your luck with an agent and if in 6 months you still have no offers, self-publish.
Fifth, be positive. If you get bad critics that's fine. You can edit your story and make it better at any time. Just remember that grammar and punctuation in a novel IS important. Don't rush off to get published without having a book that is near perfect in these areas.
Giselle Simlett The idea of immortality has always intrigued me, but not the kind of immortality that we're used to seeing. Usually, immortality is a good thing, a great thing, but what if that existence was spent in a 'cage'? It wouldn't be so great then, would it?

Another thing that inspired me was the main character, Leonie Woodville. She kind of just burst into my head and demanded I write her story. I had no choice but to do as she said!
