Quentin Brent The Reason came from me because of my banking and economic background. I have always been fascinated with The Federal Reserve and their lack of oversight. I thought it would be intriguing to put that in a novel and have The Federal Reserve abuse their authority since they don't report to congress or even the President. I was also inspired by Maya Angelou's quote that if we had known better we would have done better. That taught me that we really need to understand why people do the things they do. It may seem wrong to us at the time, but we must always remember why they did it. The Reason.
Quentin Brent By novels and stories I read and movies and TV. I will read or see something in a movie and I will write notes detailing how I can use that in my novel. I never steal the scene or plot but will use aspects of it.
Quentin Brent I am working on the sequel to The Reason, called The Truth. It follows the same characters as they carry out their given assignments in trying to save the economy of the United States and the world. Of course, with some mayhem, mystery, romance and humor.
Quentin Brent Immerse yourself in the craft. Take classes. join a writers group, read and of course write. Read and write a lot. The words you put down may be garbage but just the act of putting them on paper and then having you and others review them make you a better writer.
Quentin Brent Being able to use my imagination. Anything I can imagine, can happen in my story, as long as it is portrayed properly and doesn't take the reader out of the story. It is fun being able to create a world that is all mine.
Quentin Brent Motivation. My time that I have to write can be pretty limited, having a day job as well. So when I write I know I have to make the best use of the time and that motivation drives me past any writers block I may experience.
