I was her moon. Then, one day, she lost herself and began gazing at the stars...

Like many, I'd love to dive into the mythical world of Avatar. However this is a movie not a book.
Thinking of books, I'd love to experience the world of "A Darkling Sea" by James L. Cambias.
I'd go there as an ambassador of humankind and would want to spend as much time as possible with the alien cultures populating this ocean world. What better can there be than learning from each other?

Mostly true life stories, e.g.: The Cruelest Miles, Kanzi, Babylon's Ark, Cold, Falling Upwards, Growing Up Amish etc.
Additionally, I am always on the lookout for easy to read thrillers and adventure stories. Thinking of reading all Joe Nesbo thrillers this summer.

Then mystery of who my biological father is... and how to find him out there somewhere in the world. All I have is a name, and a guess as to where he grew up...

I had to think about this one for a few days :) A difficult question to answer, mostly because there are so many great fictional couples.
A more recent one I am quite fond of is in the Robert Galbraight "Cormoran Strike" thrillers.
I love the slowly evolving relationship between Cormoran and his assistant Robin. They are both struggling in many ways. I love how they are there for each other. How they accept each other exactly the way they are. How they can count on each other no matter what. I also love that there is no immediate romantic relationship. Maybe there never will be. But there is the mutual attraction. There is magic. Possibility. Loyalty. And each of the characters is developed in depth, making them so real, you feel as if they're right there in front of you... with all their carisma, their charming irritating faults and strengths.

I am currently working on translating my entire manuscript for Paralian from English to German. Ideally I want it to be ready for May 2016 when the English edition comes out. Hopefully, I can then get a German or Swiss publisher interested in my book as well.

(view spoiler)[I love the creative process, observing every detail, gazing at people around me and wondering what amazing, often heartbreaking stories might be part of their own personal history. I savour every smell, every sound, every ray of light as it reflects off objects. And I wonder, how could I paint this picture with words in such a way it will come alive in my readers' minds?

It's been a dream for as long as I can remember, forming itself slowly but surely within my mind over the period of many years. It's my life. A story I believe will give many people hope and strength.

Life inspires me daily: Every moment. Someone smiling at me in the tram. Someone showing kindness to a stranger on the street. Nature. The purring of my cat. The smile of my wife in the morning when she opens her eyes...

Don't take no for an answer. Never. Write foremost for yourself and don't expect anything in terms of sales. Of course it'd be great if your book ended up being succesful... but there is a great chance it won't. In a sense it doesn't really matter. What matters is that you wrote it in the first place. Even if your grand children will end up being the only ones who'll ever read it.

The key is to not wait for inspiration but just write. Just start scribbling down random notes, then get more precise, until all of a sudden, hours later you'll find that inspiration came while writing...
