Beau Hall The pay! Ha ha oh my side. I am crying. Stop it. The greatest thing is the notion that some oddball idea pops into my head, I write it down, and somebody else reads it and actually likes it. It still blows my mind.
Beau Hall Intentionally write the worst crap I can. It overloads my internal critic to the point of shutting down.
Beau Hall Write and then go back and fix it. Learn the rules after you broke them, ask yourself if you'd still break them knowing what you know now, and then act accordingly. Some rules I break because I hate the rules, other rules I've adhered to because they made a lot more sense than how I was writing it.

And don't start a sentence with a conjunction or throw a preposition at the end of it.
Beau Hall Killer Clown Clown Killers. The name says it all, kind of like Cowboys Vs. Aliens. You really don't need to elaborate when the title is just BAM that's it. There's clowns that kill other clowns, who were killers. Think of Dexter with a rubber nose and giant shoes.
Beau Hall There's this odd phobia of clowns; I know a few people who get creeped out by them. So what if those people started killing off clowns? Call me stupid, but it felt like an interesting idea for a comedy horror book. I have this odd feeling that it's already been done. I'm positive.

Or are you talking about my most recent published book, Snapshot? That one was inspired by true events - two completely unrelated events that, if combined, make for a great story. What if a serial killer spent his entire life undetected? And what if some crazy hoarder lady had a stockpile of amazing photos in a storage unit, some of which happened to include photos of said serial killer in action... and she dies, and those photos are suddenly up for auction?
