There are many good things about being a writer. Getting to share your stories is one of them. Falling in love with your characters (which are often the best parts of yourself and others). Living with your head wrapped around dreamy stories that could never happen (but so what). These are the best parts.

To get inspiration, I walk in the woods daily (even in the rain). After sitting at a desk all morning, both my body and mind need the outing. If I am struggling with a character or event in my books, this is sure to cure me.

Mark Twain said that if he couldn't move forward on a piece of work, he would "cubby hole" it, and "let it fill itself up." I have found that this works for me too.

I'm working on three different projects right now.
The first is the second in the Lee Harding Mystery Series, Dead on the Dock. It takes place on a fictitious lake in Harriman State Park in New York.
The book is finished and is going through edits.
The second project is the third in the series, which will be set in Multnomah Village in Portland. I'm about a quarter of the way into that story.
I am also working on very different project–a collection of short stories based on actual rape–which is an ongoing project. I sit in on rape trials at the Portland Courthouse and then write about them.
