My most recent book, 'Sentence of Death IV: The Pink Socks', is a continuation of my 'Sentence of Death Series.' The series was inspired by a movie I watched as a kid in the mid-1970's.

I have several in progress manuscripts that I am working on currently. They are 'In The Eyes of Decent People,' 'Under a Moonless Sky,' 'The Lesson Plan,' and 'Sentence of Death V: The Unexpected Photograph. The first three are in advanced stages and I should have one or two finished by the end of the year.

First, never give up. You don't have to start at the beginning of a book, start in the middle or start at the end and build around it. The first time you write part of your book is just getting it down on paper, then you can go back and make changes as the story develops.

When it comes to writing a novel I have control over the scene, the characters and the plot. I breath life into my characters, both the good ones and the bad ones and I create their actions. Writing a novel at least for a time lets me submerge myself into a world that I created as my words go onto paper.

I was inspired to write my first book 'Sentence of Death,' many years ago when I was in high school. I was watching an old movie in which a woman was executed in the gas chamber and prior to her last walk she was make to take her shoes off. I wondered why and went to my high school librarian who helped me find a few articles from some older books and magazines that explained my question. She later told me that I knew enough that I could write a book and years later I did.

When I have writer's block I will either take a walk or take a drive and during that venture I will talk to myself and let my mind clear, then the ideas start to flow. I also carry a digital recorder with me so I can record my thoughts as I drive.
