I'm catching up with Leigh Bardugo's backlist in preparation for her latest release, Ninth House, which looks excellent. I'm also (always!) excited for a new release from Illona Andrews, Sweep of the Blade.
In terms of non-fiction, I'm working my way through Sterling and Stone's Stone Tablet releases as they come thick and fast, as I find them inspiring in terms of my own writing.

The earliest two romance novels I can remember reading are The Changeover by Margaret Mahy, which is a YA supernatural romance where I adored the hero (I decided I would name any male child I had Sorenson (!!)), and at the other end of the scale, the Riders series by Jilly Cooper, a fast paced and fairly explicit series. I read both novels in my mid teens, and they definitely set me up as a romance reader in very different ways!

I'm now working on Book 2 of the Energetics' series, "Tierra and the Warrior". Tierra's a sweeter, less physical character than Blaize, and she solves her problems in a different way, so it's been really interesting to get inside her head - whilst making sure she's still a strong, independent character, of course. And Fintan, her love interest and the 'warrior' in the title, is a bundle of mischief, so he's great fun.

I find inspiration everywhere in my life! For example, in Blaize and the Maven, the inspiration for Cuinn’s tower, and the dreamscape came from a mix of learning about the idea of lucid dreaming in yoga and my own experience of working with hypnosis. I’ve been a (poor!) student of the self-defence system Krav Maga for a number of years, so the fighting style of Blaize is based on that.
I also have a pretty unusual lifestyle – I live in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and as well as writing my fiction, I have a personal development blog and business and a travel blog. I’m also a Registered Occupational Psychologist, and work as a freelance management consultant in countries all over the world – just in the last year I’ve been to Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Dubai, Egypt and Saudi Arabia amongst other places. My day-to-day life therefore provides a good dose of inspiration too!
