Rachel Elisabeth Agh! Writer's block. I like to get away from the blockage and try to concentrate on not being frustrated. I'll stop thinking about the old idea and be completely open to the most ludicrous and far-fetched topics. Anything of interest--whether it be an oddly shaped building, bird on a tree, or woman eating an apple--is a possibility waiting to happen.
Rachel Elisabeth I got my idea from Radioactive from a drawing. I was bored in the summer and decided I would do something vaguely productive. I drew this girl with black hair and then added some orange and yellow highlights. For some reason I colored her eyes orange and then I drew a couple more people like her. And then I said to myself, "Hey. This could be a good idea!"
Rachel Elisabeth Inspiration comes from more than one place. I may get inspiration from a movie, book, or music. Most of my inspiration is completely random and serendipitous. A particular doodle may spark ideas. I find inspiration in reading other writers' works and reflecting on the beauty of writing. I like to look to my surroundings, nature, and to a world that is yet to be given life.
Rachel Elisabeth I am currently working on the second book of the Armageddon series. It is an absolute mountain of editing and revising and total rewriting. But I can't wait to get it out there!
Rachel Elisabeth Write. Wrote. Written. If you want to be a writer, you have to start somewhere. I started off with the most deplorable story ever, but that doesn't mean it can't evolve into something better! Write whenever you can. Write whatever you can. Writing is an active sport. Most of all, you have to enjoy writing. If there isn't any passion, then there won't be any spark to your fire.
Rachel Elisabeth The best thing about being an author is the absence of limit. Your only restraint is your own imagination. You can create your own world. You can live many lives. You can make new friends. But the very best thing is giving your story to the world and letting others readers enjoy it as much as you did writing it.
