Terry L. Mills I think that life brings stories to you. As we move through our own experiences, or observe the experiences of those around us, the stories come to life in our minds. The challenge is to put "pen to paper," and let these life stories unfold in a way that is appealing to a broad range of readers. Sometimes it's joy, or pain, or suffering, or just a wild imagination to leads me to write. It's not a prescribed thing for me. It just flows!
Terry L. Mills I am really focused on the marketing effort for my new book, #TheEscortWalkingToEternity. The reason being that beyond getting this book written and published, there is much work to be done in promoting this work. My publisher #SBPRA has done a marvelous job in producing this book, and setting the stage for commercial success. Now, it is imperative that I am personally engaged in getting readers to pick up this book, offer reviews and comments; and for me to get out in front of the reading public. Time to hit the road and attend book fairs, author readings, and personal appearances.
Terry L. Mills Writer's block is probably inevitable. However, it is important to take a break away from your work to let some fresh air into the "ideas room." While you are on this break, try to develop an outline for your ideas. Nothing complex, just a simple outline with for example, some key ideas for the chapter, some points about the character development, how the chapters might flow.
Terry L. Mills The best advice I can give to aspiring writers is to WRITE! Express what you are passionate about, or what moves you. Everyone has a story to tell. Let your thoughts flow on the paper. THEN . . . get a good editor!
Terry L. Mills The idea for my first book, "The Escort - Walking to Eternity With My Brother" is a result of the actual experiences that I went through in dealing with the business of death and dying of my brother who was diagnosed with stage IV liver cancer, with a prognosis of three-six months to live.
