If "inspired" means "motivated," I've never had an issue with that, because I've always loved to think up and communicate stories. Don't wait to be "inspired" before you sit down and work on your novel. That's a recipe for inactivity. Instead, have a set schedule that you devote to writing, and stick to it. Stephen King, in his book "On Writing," has a very nice section about this topic.

Understand that you must be, first and foremost, a storyteller. Don't get discouraged, don't let anyone stand in your way. After that, develop the discipline to write everyday, six days a week.

The idea came about as I was watching the French Open. I began wondering what would happen if the number one player in the world came up against an opponent who turns her life upside down. From that, "Game Of Edges" was born. By the way, you don't need to know anything at all about tennis to thoroughly enjoy this book.
